As the holiday season arrives, it brings with it a tapestry of emotions and experiences. This year, let's embark on a journey of mindful celebration, nurturing our inner light amidst the festive glow.

Embracing Imperfection

The holidays often come with a pressure for perfection, but let's redefine what these days mean to us. Forgetting a detail or two isn't a misstep; it's a reminder to focus on what truly enriches our souls - connection, compassion, and self-care.

Holiday Emotions: A Spectrum of Experience

This season can be a mirror, reflecting both joy and sorrow. It's natural to feel a range of emotions, and it's okay. Let's honour our feelings, whatever they may be, and find comfort in the shared human experience.

Solitude and Solidarity

While the holidays are a time of gathering, some people find that totally overwhelming and prefer to be on their own. So be sure to ask friends or family what they prefer and do not presume we all want or need the same thing. For those of you on your own and find that difficult, remember, you are part of a larger community, each of us navigating our unique paths but connected in our humanity. Maybe reach out to support groups or clubs. Or be sure to set your day up to be how you would like it, maybe create a snuggly space to relax and watch movies or read a book and feed yourself well on all levels.. For those of you having to spend time with people or places you don’t want to be, take a few breaths, give yourself time out and pause when it gets a little too much.
